Safari holidays in Kenya have been enjoying Royal approval in recent times. Although they have always attracted thousands of holidaymakers each year, those thinking of booking a Kenya safari this year, may rest assured that they are good enough even for royalty.

In 2011, Prince William married Catherine Middleton in front of millions of crowds across London and billions of viewer on television. Just like all fairy tale weddings, theirs began while on a Kenya safari holiday in late 2010.

William chose to propose to Catherine while they were both on a safari with friends in Kenya. Although, only a few details of how he actually chose to propose have been revealed to the media, holidaymakers choosing to go on a safari may rest assured that the surroundings make for both romantic settings and breath taking scenery. Of course, when going on a safari in Kenya there is also going to be a lot of extraordinary wildlife to see from the roaring lion to the hysterical honey badger.

According to the website, People, William chose to propose in Kenya as he has great personal connections to the continent and was overwhelmed by its privacy and beauty.

Speaking on a documentary aired on Sky TV, People referred to footage which showed William visiting Botswana. He said: “This place will hold a special place in my heart for the rest of my life.

“Africa’s the perfect place to come. The local haven’t a clue who I am, and I love that.”

According to website, British Royals, the couple got engaged in October last year at Rutundu which is a remote area some 3,100 meters above sea level on Mount Kenya. The website also claims that some locals say they hired a helicopter to the wildlife
