SMS or Text Messaging Service Was for the Deaf and Mute

Did you have any idea the SMS or short messaging service and popularity known as text messages was actually designed for communication of the deaf and mute? This was actually the reason why this kind of messaging service did not become popular in Britain even when they were the nation who designed and created SMS during the earliest part of the 80s. In the Philippines, the first commercial advertisement ever produced on TV about SMS or text messages produced for one of the major telecommunication companies was about two deaf people texting each other.

When this TV advertisement appeared, it did not take long for the Filipinos to realize its potential. Soon deaf and no deaf begun to use the texting facilities of the said telecommunication company, to the consternation of its two rival telecommunication companies who were still on voice communication mode in their servicing of mobile phones since they were still using the traditional carrier which is the analog system The deaf mute ads for SMS or texting service, resulted to an instant hit that soon enough. the demand for this kind of communication service begun to rise forcing the telecommunication company offering this service to open and construct more and more cell sites or towers to accommodate the volume of SMS or texting messages traffic.

The two other communication companies were soon forced to change their system carrier from Analog to Digital to enable them to enter in this very new and very lucrative market that has captured the hearts and minds of the Filipinos, the SMS or the texting way of communicating. This SMS or texting craze that hit the Philippines started in the later part of the 90s up to this day. The communication that was invented in Britain for the deaf and mute is now enjoyed by nearly all Filipinos every where in the Philippines.

In other parts of the world, SMS or text messages have now become very popular that even mountain people in Peru, Bolivia and other South American countries are now beginning to profit from this system of communication by engaging in the buy and sell of SMS text cards or Electronic SMS or text loads to their fellow villagers. In fact, the buy and sell of mobile phones and SMS or text loads has now become a profitable business in these parts of the world adding to the vibrancy of their economy. Other Asian countries also followed suit. The SMS or texting traffic in countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, china and India are now on the rise and their respective telecommunication companies are doing their very best to construct more cell sites or towers to accommodate their ever increasing SMS or text messaging traffic.

In western countries where this kind of communication was invented and designed for the mute and the deaf, SMS or texting messages traffic are also beginning to rise as the younger generation of these countries are beginning to take charge in typing out their communication to each other in their very own text languages.
