Exploring The Different Typs Of Book Clubs
You may have heard the saying "different strokes for different folks". As they say, all of us have our own set of favorite things and interests that we would like to pursue during our leisure time. There are those who would love to spend their free time dancing or swimming with friends or family. Some like to bake or experiment with gourmet cooking while others like to hole up and read book after book during weekends. The people who love reading books are those who also want to be part of a book club, however, these people don't have the same book preferences in terms of genres or topics. Because of this, there are different clubs that they may join. For bookworms out there, here's a list of different book clubs that might be of interest to you: 1. Children's Book Club These are for kids ages 8-12. The main focus of these clubs is to nurture a child's love for reading. Of course, this comes with socialization or what they call cyber socialization for those joining online clubs. Nevertheless, children who are members of these clubs willl have the opportunity to develop their skills to better express themselves more. 2.Celebrity Endorsement These are clubs that seek advice from celebrities on what books to read. Readers can give their opinions in forums about the book. A famous example of this is Oprah's Online Book Club. 3. Poetry Technically, this would not qualify as a book club but in essence, it can be considered so. This club will have members sharing their thoughts or views not on books that they've read but instead on poetry or poems. 4. Science Fiction This group is exclusive for science fiction enthusiasts who enjoy reading about and discussing advanced science literature. There are science fiction book clubs for both adults and children. Kids who are fascinated by the idea of inventions will surely enjoy membership. Becoming a member of any of these book loving communities is easy. You can check online and choose from a great array of clubs from the Literary Guild to Doubleday Book Club and others which you may find interesting. Only join book clubs that you find interesting. If not, you are just wasting your time in joining. After all, the main reason for taking part in these organizations should be to further cultivate your love for whatever book genre you're most interested in. On the other hand, you may appreciate being able to explore other interests.
