Preschool Games: requisite for the overall development of your child

Preschoolers love to play games. The best games for preschoolers are simple, fun and interactive and also which can be played indoors or outdoors. Whether your kid is in the garden or in the kitchen, chances are a preschool game awaits him.

Let’s first consider some of the preschool games that kids can enjoy playing outdoor- Running, jumping, swinging, hopping, climbing, biking, jogging, digging in the sand all these activities refine your child's gross-motor (large-muscle) skills and can help your child develop important physical abilities like hand-eye coordination. Playground time is also an opportunity for your kid to explore and manipulate a different environment.
There are also a variety of indoor games that lets your kid learn mathematical, scientific, art, social studies, and language concepts. One such popular preschool game is puzzles. An ideal preschool classroom should have a variety of puzzles- puzzles that differ in complexity, five-piece puzzles, as well as 12-piece puzzles, and puzzles made of different materials. Puzzles that interlock and those that have individual slots for pieces should also be played. Puzzles, undeniably, are great exercises for your kid’s brain. They not only allow your child see a space and envision what belongs there but also help him develop fine-motor control skills.
Music games are also a big hit with preschoolers. You can turn on your kid’s favorite songs and ask him to dance but he has to freeze when you stop the tape. In addition to refining the motor skills this activity will also improve his listening skills and ability to follow direction. Another game that preschoolers love is making noises. So, ask them to act like different animals- for instance, growling like a lion, meowing like a cat and barking like a dog. It will let you know about your child’s understanding of different animals and if he goes wrong you can immediately correct him.
Crafts like painting, coloring and working with clay allow your child to be creative and play with their imagination. They also teach your kid about planning, following directions and also improve their motor skills, math skills and social skills as some crafts require them to work in a group.
