Trading in penny shares can be both a potentially good way to make lots of money and a way to lose money if you are not careful. The definition of penny stocks is stocks that have very low value, but very volatile and speculative in nature. Speculative stock is one whose real value cannot be determined using hard data, like in regular stock. One of the things that you need to remember is that unlike in the major stock markets, you do not have access to information regarding the company you would like to invest in. This is because in the Pink Sheets (the market where penny stocks and other microcap stocks are traded) companies are not even required to file with the Securities and Exchange Commission, so the only thing that you would have to base your decision on investing is the secondhand news of the company that you get from other traders.

Because of the limited amount of information available regarding penny stocks, unscrupulous traders have gone into the habit of hyping up the value of certain commodities in order to get novice traders to but their stocks from them at a premium, and then they will stop the hype afterward making the value plummet rapidly. This is the main reason why you should not get pressured by anyone into buying penny shares; just follow your own instincts and trade in what you think will do great.
