Photovoltaic Cells And Solar Panels

Solar panels are made from Photovoltaic cells which are used to trap the solar radiation and converting it into electricity. Almost all the solar panels are made from photovoltaic cells and hence the name, Photovoltaic solar panels. They are made with various technologies and methods.

The basic working of these panels is thus the cells in the solar panels are agitated by the rays of the sun through a phenomenon called photovoltaic effect. This effect tends to produce certain amount of electric current when exposed to sunlight. The cell is designed in such a way that it creates an electric field and thus become the solar power generator.

The various types of photovoltaic cells are thin film solar cells, printed solar cells, solar roof tiles and shingles. The three types of solar panel configuration are amorphous, polycrystalline modules and mono-crystalline modules of which the last variety is the most efficient and expensive. The solar panels are available in various sizes depending on the watt they produce and the shape.

There is a constant effort using advanced technology to increase the watt produced by the solar panels. Normally, solar panels are available in rectangular shape but as a matter of fact, they can be created in any geometrical shape, practically. Thus, they are very versatile to be fitted in any shaped roof. But the downside is when you chose a design out of the way; the chances are high that the expense would be more because the panel has to be custom made, according to your requirements.

This gives ample scope for the distributors to create variable designs such that they are not only functional but also are pleasing to the eye, in decorative designs. This can be achieved only by professionals who are certified and capable of creating photovoltaic solar panels, taking into consideration all these factors.
