Connect With Your Clients Using Postcards
We get postcards in the mail just about every day. Postcards for products, postcards for lost kids, postcards for offers, and we may even receive postcard packs from marketing companies who mass mail for dozens of clients. But there's a reason for all the post cards. And that reason is because they work.
All in all, a post card may be the most effective marketing method on the planet. Dollar for dollar, post cards reach more people, can catch more eyeballs and can be stuck in more info packs and pockets than any other kind of mailer or flyer out there. Data shows that post cards can be even more effective than television ads. So how can you use post cards to connect with your clients?
Easy! Sit down with some post cards and see what makes them work for you. Odds are, those are the same things that will work for your clients. Something to catch the eye, like a great picture of your product or good colors will catch eyeballs. And that's half the battle, right there. A customer isn't going to do anything else with the rest of your post card if they don't have something that will cause them to stop and look.
But once you have them stopped, the rest of the post card is what has to connect your business to the client's needs. That's where having good information about your products and services come into play. Having a sale or discount that requires the customer to bring in the card will enable the customer to have a reason to keep the card too, making sure the card remains in their possession for as long as possible.
Another great thing about postcards is the fact that you can use them as a map to show your exact location. Whether it's in a mall off the main drag, on a side street in a small town, or even as a booth in a marketing convention, using postcards to show customers how to find you is a very powerful way to use them to connect you to your clients. Inviting the client to your place of business or showroom with a postcard map means they have no excuses as to why they can't come.
All in all, for the few cents it costs to purchase and produce post cards, having something your client can hold in their hand, stick in their pocket or in a bag will ensure they use it. As the most effective means to connecting you to your client or potential customer, there's nothing better than a post card for that initial connection. This means you have an inexpensive, yet effective tool in your marketing arsenal, all ready for use!
