Accident reconstruction using Biomechanics

Biomechanics is a new discipline created by combining like physics, engineering and biology. The changes occurring on a human body when different forces act on it and data of the kind help a lot in cases of accident reconstruction. When the theories and methodologies of the biomechanical are applied on the real occupants, the counter results can be noted and a credible idea can be generated about the scenario that could have actually been when the collision took place. This will help the engineers in collision reconstruction. This methodology can also tell the investigators the actual location of the occupants inside the vehicle and what moves were made in which direction when the collision took place.

There are accidents planned with the aim of harming an occupant seated in the vehicle but this methodology can also find out if someone had actually planned the accident. In cases like this, it is the driver who is actually responsible for causing the accident but there is always an attempt by him to escape and most of the time, he does escape. The advance simulation software takes the inputs from evidence found from the site and generates a close model of the human body and this model helps find the actual culprit. Not just one model but several are generated with possible different time lines that the accident could have taken place. These techniques are not only used for reconstruction purposes but can also be produced in court as evidence in court to prove the case as seen by the prosecution.
